Sahar Alkhateeb works with large-scale sculptures made from used chairs that are deconstructed and reassembled in new ways. Opening<\/strong>: April 5 <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n Sahar Alkhateeb (b. 1987, Palestine, based in Malm\u00f6, Sweden) draws from personal experiences when exploring the relationship between individual and group, as well as the connection between the private, home sphere and public space. Alkhateeb holds an MFA from Konstfack in Stockholm (2021) and a BA in Contemporary Art from the International Academy of Art in Palestine (2013). Alkhateeb has had a solo exhibition at Uppsala Art Museum (2022) and participated in group exhibitions at, among others, Sk\u00e5nes Konstf\u00f6rening in Malm\u00f6 (2024), Malm\u00f6 Art Museum (2021), and V\u00e4xj\u00f6 Art Gallery (2016). During winter, Alkhateeb collaborated with various groups from the Wan\u00e5s area in a community art project. The artistic process began with play. Games such as \u201cMusical Chairs\u201d, \u201cFruit Salad\u201d, and \u201cHot Seat\u201d served as the starting point for conversations about belonging, feeling at home, and power dynamics. Who gets to take a seat, and who is left on the sideline?
