The artist duo Chiachio & Giannone invite you to a sewing circle for the LGBTQIA+ people and the community to a sewing circle. Through their artistic practices, the duo aims to uplift the status of textile art and offer a more nuanced image of the LGBTQIA+ people in Argentina. In their works, everyday life in Buenos Aires meets influences from queer iconography as well as Latin American and European art history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 5:00 PM, the premises will be closed to everyone except those participating in the event. During the evening, food and drinks will be available from our caf\u00e9. In connection with the sewing circle, the artists will also present their exhibition Fortune and Abundance.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Chicachio & Giannone\u2019s exhibition Fortune and Abundance, <\/em>multilayered textile works featuring embroidery, patchwork, and quilting from their 20-year collaborative artistic practice are presented. Their process is methodical and meticulous, and a single composition can take several years to complete. In preparation for the 40th anniversary of Wan\u00e5s Konst, the artist duo will create a new textile artwork together with Wan\u00e5s visitors, neighbours and the local community. During May 2026, they aim to get to know Wan\u00e5s, Sk\u00e5ne, and its textile traditions through a series of activities where people gather to embroider and talk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
