Childhood, parenthood, the art world, and death are recurring themes in Marianne Lindberg De Geer\u2019s oeuvre. Her permanent sound work I am Thinking About Myself \u2013 Wan\u00e5s 2003<\/em>, with voices calling for Mommy and Daddy, is one of the sculpture park\u2019s most well-known works. And The Wind Cries Mary<\/em> was part of the exhibition Revisit<\/em> at Wan\u00e5s Konst in 2018, which presented several works from her multifaceted oeuvre. She herself comments on the work: \u201cAnd The Wind Cries Mary<\/em> is a paraphrase of images we have seen of overthrown dictators, but is also, if you like, about a traumatized childhood, or maybe expresses the feeling of letting go of something or someone. The idea for the expression grew out of the fact that all of my outdoor sculptures in public spaces have been vandalized in one way or another. And I have never seen a sculpture in a public space that was vandalized from the very beginning. It is created in one perfect piece that was subsequently split into five parts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
