Sarah Schwartz carved the word \u201cReflexion<\/em>\u201d in the stone lying in the middle of the path when she visited Wan\u00e5s in 1989. It is a subtle work that is ambiguous in the double meaning of the word: circumspection and mirroring. She also created the work Mother<\/em>, which is placed near the eastern gate to the park. Schwartz\u2019 artworks at Wan\u00e5s bear witness to the cautious approach to the park\u2019s environment that was typical of early exhibitions at Wan\u00e5s. They are hardly visible, easy to pass by, and exist without disturbing or defying nature. Schwartz\u2019 works are also among the first of many language-based artworks that can be found in the park today. Jenny Holzer has placed texts along the long dry-stone wall that surrounds the park, and language is also central to artworks by Marianne Lindberg De Geer, Yoko Ono, Srinivasa Prasad, Carl Fredrik Reutersw\u00e4rd, and Robert Wilson. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
