Sarah Schwartz worked at Wan\u00e5s in 1989 and 1990, and she left behind two language-based works: Reflexion<\/em> and Mother<\/em>. The word \u201cMother\u201d is engraved on a stone of which the shape is reminiscent of a podium or a foundation, as if the artist wanted to emphasize and honor motherhood. Schwartz\u2019 artworks bear witness to the cautious approach to the park\u2019s environment that was typical of early exhibitions at Wan\u00e5s. Her works are also among the first of many language-based artworks that can be found in the park today. Jenny Holzer has placed texts along the long dry-stone wall that surrounds the park, and language is also central to artworks by Marianne Lindberg De Geer, Yoko Ono, Srinivasa Prasad, Carl Fredrik Reutersw\u00e4rd, and Robert Wilson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
