Carolina Falkholt often works with large-scale pictures on a silo or a wall, but at Wanås, the painting has left the buildings, stretching out over a train car and turning the entire object into a sculpture. Falkholt’s background is in graffiti, and in her art, she works with bodies, words, letters as well as the manual alphabet of sign language, and lines that grow into patterns, much like camouflage. Both the train cars and graffiti are associated with urban settings, but when the artwork stands parked just outside the park of Wanås, it transforms the forest and tells of transplantation and travel. Amidst the shifting colors of the natural world, Falkholt has chosen to work only with black and white. She has described graffiti as performative writing, a stream-of-consciousness, which can be read in the title: Train of Thoughts
