Sahar Alkhateeb
Sahar Alkhateeb works with large-scale sculptures made from used chairs that are deconstructed and reassembled in new ways. The second-hand chairs, bearing traces of use and life, evoke a sense of home and everyday life.
During winter, Alkhateeb collaborated with various groups from the Wanås area in a community art project. The artistic process began with play. Games such as “Musical Chairs”, “Fruit Salad”, and “Hot Seat” served as the starting point for conversations about belonging, feeling at home, and power dynamics. Who gets to take a seat, and who is left on the sideline?
In the interactive exhibition Hela havet stormar [Musical Chairs i.e. A raging sea], you are invited to play!
Opening: April 5
