Kimsooja: A Laundry Field
Kimsooja's artwork A Laundry Field from 2020 has been acquired into the collection and this summer it can be experienced in the sculpture park again. Hundreds of white sheets, embroidered with monograms or decorated with lace swaying in the wind and remind us of the creation of a home, life and death.

Martin Puryear: Meditation in a Beech Wood
In June Martin Puryear's monumental, thatched sculpture Meditation in a Beech Wood will be reconstructed. In an opening among the beech trees, in a secluded area of the park, Meditation in a Beech Wood towers high, a five-meter-high sculpture in reeds. It is shaped like a headless, seated Buddha figure. When the sculpture was built in 1996 Puryear worked closely with master thatcher Adam Ooms who now, almost 30 years later, returns to reconstruct the whole sculpture. Visitors are invited to follow the entire process with several events during the building process, and on September 5 the project culminates with a seminar where the artist inaugurates the remade sculpture. The seminar program will be published in June.

Seminar Martin Puryear
In the summer of 2024, a unique sculpture in the Wanås Konst collection will be restored – Meditation in a Beech Wood by Martin Puryear. The 5-meter-high reed sculpture will be reinaugurated on September 5 with a full-day seminar. The artist is present to share reflections from a long and exciting career during a day filled with discussions about how time affects an artwork – physically by the elements and conceptually in relation to the art field and society at large.
